One of our favourite orchids, it grows from Florida all the way down to Colombia. It is technically an intermediate to warm grower that blooms for us even in cool conditions. The upside down flower has a deep purple colour with light yellow curly leaves, nicknamed the cockle shell orchid. All plants BS, smaller ones available. Has been renamed to genus Prostechea but we still like Encyclia. A very versatile orchid, it grows in both shade and sun, in low to high elevations. A great plant to own. BS plants.
