Primulina sinovietnamica is a compact perennial plant in the Gesneriaceae family, native to the limestone karst mountains of southern China and northern Vietnam, and officially described as a new species in 2012. It forms a low rosette of thick, fleshy, dark green leaves highlighted by distinct white center veining and short purple hairs. Throughout the year, thin stalks bear small, tubular, bell-shaped flowers in shades of lavender to pale purple with a lighter center. This durable houseplant thrives in standard indoor climates with low humidity, requiring bright indirect light, a highly porous potting mix, and direct-to-soil watering only when the substrate dries out slightly.
